In 2009, we planted a single acre of Grenache at 3,400’ elevation on the rock covered western edge in the Uco Valley, a unique area that would become the Los Chacayes IG. This 1 acre within our Estate’s ‘Block 13’ was only the 10th acre of Grenache planted in the Uco Valley, with the intention of bottling a rare 100% Grenache wine.
The rocky and sandy loam soils result in naturally lower yields that are compunded with intense UV radiation and extreme temperature swings that create an expression of Grenache unlike anywhere in the world.

93 Points, Wine Advocate - "The 2019 Grenache feels a lot older and more developed with the kirsch and liqueur-like character, a little à la Rayas. It has an orangey color and is a little muted on the nose, but the palate is beautifully textured with very fine tannins."
